Mazda CX-7 nip/tuck spotted

Please To our eyes, Mazda's CX-7 crossover still manages to look fresh despite having been on the market since mid-2006. While it has aged gracefully, the Japanese automaker is readying a facelift for 2010, and some early mules have just been caught by spy shooters roaming in wintery Michigan.
While the prototypes have been quite heavily disguised, it is still possible to see that beneath their anti-spy cloaks, changes are taking shape. Significantly upsized air intakes have taken up residence up front, and tape around the rear lenses could indicate that the taillamp clusters may be altered as well. Mazda Kazamai concept unveiled ahead of Moscow debut

Mazda has unveiled the first official images of the new Kazamai concept ahead of the car's official debut on August 26 at the Moscow International Auto Salon. In Japanese, "Kazamai" means "swirling crosswinds." In English, that means "Nagare-styled compact CUV." If Mazda were to make a small crossover using the Nagare design language, it would probably look something like this. Only with four doors, because we all know that the 2-door configs are just to make the show cars sexier. So, does this mean that Mazda's working on a stylish, downsized CUV to join the ranks of the CX-7 and CX-9? Well, probably, given expensive gas prices and the resurgence of smaller vehicles in general. With any luck, it'll look this cool if and/or when it arrives.

Mazda targets Moscow with new crossover concept

Mazda announced today that it will debut a new compact crossover concept at this year's Moscow International Automobile Salan that incorporates the brand's Nagare design language into a more functional form. While not yet officially named, the crossover concept is said to express the design theme of "crosswinds" and is being developed specifically for the Russian market. SUVs are still popular in Russia and the market for new cars has grown large enough there to warrant the specific attention of automakers. The Moscow Motor Show will take place in late August at which time we'll get to see Mazda's Russian crossover concept, and we're told an official name will be announced in due course. Mazda1 city car coming to Paris Motor Show

Mazda is finally going to employ the styling cues shown on its Taiki, Ryuga, Hakaze and Furai show cars with a supermini concept, due to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show. The concept aims to slot in below the Mazda2 and may be the first production model to benefit from the Nagare design theme. Other models utilizing Laurens van der Acker's swooping and sculpted lines are expected to come to production in 2010, including the redesigned Mazda3.
Mazda also plans to unveil a small crossover concept at the Moscow Motor Show later this year, which will likely be based of the Ford Kuga and utilize the same Nagare DNA. This new CUV will be specifically designed for the Russian market, which Mazda maintains could overtake Germany as the largest market in Europe. But bringing this cute 'ute to the UK and the US is a possibility, as consumers continue to downsize their rides.
